Part-time work lets moms be moms

At 2:40 p.m., Vanessa Dunn of Chandler turns off her laptop and clears it from the kitchen table, finished with her workday in time to pick up the kids from school.
More moms such as Dunn are going back to work, especially with the faltering economy. But some are choosing part time so they can still take a turn in the carpool and help with homework in the afternoons.
"I just feel like I have the best of both worlds," said Leslie Anderson of Chandler, a mom of two who went back to work in April, putting in 10 hours a week as a copy editor
In a shift over the past decade, 60 percent of working mothers said they find part-time employment most appealing, up from 48 percent in 1997, according to a study released a year ago by the non-profit Pew Research Center in Washington, D.C...
